Injuries Reported Among US Troops from Iranian Strike in Kuwait
The affected personnel experienced brain injuries, burns, and damage from flying debris, with at least one requiring a limb amputation, a news agency reported, citing multiple insiders.
As of Tuesday, over 30 service members remained in hospitals for treatment. According to the report, one individual was being cared for at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas, 12 were at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington, and approximately 25 were receiving care at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.
About 20 of the wounded were transported to Germany on a C-17 military plane due to “urgent” medical needs, including concussions, memory impairments, and traumatic brain injuries, sources told the news agency.
Initially, the Pentagon had stated that five personnel were seriously wounded while “several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions.”
Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell indicated on Tuesday that 140 US service members have been injured since the war with Iran began. Most have since returned to duty, though eight remain critically wounded and are receiving specialized medical attention.
