Drone Strikes Trigger Fires at Key Kuwaiti Oil Refineries

(MENAFN) Two drone attacks struck major oil refineries in Kuwait on Thursday, triggering fires but causing no reported injuries, according to reports from the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.

The corporation stated that one drone hit an operational unit at the Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery, managed by Kuwait National Petroleum Company, resulting in a limited fire. Authorities have begun implementing necessary measures to contain the situation and maintain operational safety at the facility.

In a separate event, another drone targeted an operational unit at the Mina Abdullah Refinery, also operated by Kuwait National Petroleum Company, causing a fire at that site. The corporation emphasized that all precautionary measures were in place to protect workers and secure the facility.

Six firefighting teams responded to both incidents, successfully bringing the fires under control. No injuries were reported in either attack.

These incidents come amid a series of recent strikes in Kuwait. Authorities have recently intercepted missiles and drones aimed at military sites without any casualties.

Iran has stated that it is targeting what it describes as US military sites and interests in the region as part of the ongoing escalation connected to the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
