Drone Strike Causes Fire at Kuwait Airport Fuel Facility

(MENAFN) According to reports, a drone attack struck a fuel storage tank at Kuwait International Airport, triggering a fire at the site, as confirmed by the country’s civil aviation authority.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation, citing its spokesperson Abdullah al-Rajhi, stated on a social media platform that initial assessments indicate the damage was limited to material losses, with no injuries or fatalities reported.

Emergency protocols were activated immediately following the incident, and firefighting units along with relevant agencies were deployed to control and extinguish the blaze.

The development comes amid a broader escalation of regional hostilities that began after US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. Since then, Iran has reportedly responded with multiple drone and missile attacks targeting Israel as well as Gulf countries that host US military assets, contributing to rising tensions across the region.
